The aim of our Christian Education programs at St. Clement's Episcopal Church is to support our parish members of all ages in an ongoing process of teaching and learning to assist each individual in living out his or her baptismal covenant.
We organize our Christian Education communities into these ministry areas: Infants and Toddlers, Three year olds, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, First through Third grades, Fourth through Sixth grades, Seventh through Twelfth grades and Adults (Rector’s “Half Hour” Forum, and Weekday Bible Study).
A nursery is provided for infants and children up to age 3 during the 9:00 a.m. service, 10:15 a.m. Sunday school, and and up to age 5 at 11:00 a.m. service.
Our Christian Education volunteers are parents and members from the parish, many of whom are professionally trained teachers. They share the love of Christ and a way of life that provides support and encouragement for each of us on our Christian journey.
Depending on the age group, teachers are encouraged to engage others in stories and to stimulate conversation and reflection. We hope also to use children’s imagination to foster in them creative and spontaneous thoughts. Whenever possible, life experiences are woven into the teaching and learning activity.
We believe that Christian Education is a lifelong process. It differs from our educational activities outside the faith in that it is more than learning about the Episcopal Church. It is personally experiencing relationships with others of faith and continually growing in our relationship with God.
We respect all different styles of learning and different developmental levels. However, we do ask those in our Church School program to make a commitment to regular attendance so that we can create opportunities for them with a level of consistency.
Rector’s “Half Hour”
During the regular schedule, Fr. Jamie offers, from 10:15--10:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the church, a brisk and lively presentation related to the teachings and history of our Christian tradition, from a classic Anglican perspective.
Rector’s Bible Study
The rector offers an hour bible study on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in Davis Hall. All are welcome--no experience required.
Youth Group
E.T.C., also known as Episcopal Teen Community, welcomes all youth, 6th grade thru 12th grade, to meet Sundays at 5:00 p.m. in Davis Hall to make plans for upcoming events, outreach to our community, in-reach to our parish and youth fellowship.
Diocesan Opportunities
As a member parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta we have opportunities to grow and learn as a diocese. Our youth regularly attend “New Beginnings” and Camp Mikell events. Events of interest to all ages are sponsored throughout the year at the Cathedral of St. Philip in downtown Atlanta.
